Would you like to have your song included in VOCAMERICA? Now is your chance!
Below is a message from EmpathP:
Hi everyone! We have a special announcement from your friends here at the VOCAMERICA Concert Project. Are you a musician with a love of Western VOCALOIDS? Have you ever wanted to have a song you’ve written featured in a live concert? Well, now you have a chance!
We are pleased to announce the very first VOCAMERICA Concert Project song contest, sponsored by EmpathP through Empathy Studios.
This is an original song writing contest focused on creating all new songs for 4 specific VOCALOIDS: Lola, Sweet Ann, Tonio, and Prima. As most of you know, Tonio and Prima’s future appearances were funded through our successful kickstarter campaign. Lola and Sweet Ann’s performances have been planned for quite some time. However, with all four of these VOCALOIDS, I’m afraid we simply could not find enough content that we felt was concert ready.
Therefore, Empathy Studios is hosting this contest for all of you wonderful musicians out there. The contest is very simple:
- Write a BRAND NEW original song featuring either Lola, Sweet Ann, Tonio, or Prima.
- The song must be a solo, not a duet
- The song must be 3-5 minutes in length and have a PG or very innocent PG-13 rating (no sexual or overly violent songs please)
- The song may be in any language you’d like, though English will be preferred (simply because these VOCALOIDS are programmed for English). But there will be no bias on languages when final selections are made.
- Send your song to [email protected] with the following information: your full name, your producer name (if you have one), the title of your song, and the name of the VOCALOID you used. You may choose to either send the song directly, or you may link it via soundcloud. Please do NOT submit the song to youtube.
- You may submit up to 4 entries (one for each of the VOCALOIDS involved in the contest). However, you are only eligible to win ONE prize.
- Collaborations on the song are allowed (musician x musician, musician x lyric writer, musician x vocaloid tuner, ect.), but should the song that is collaborated on be chosen as a winner, the contestants must split the prize between them (at their own discretion).
This contest will open up for entries on November 1st and last through ‘til February 1st at 11:59 PM EDT. Anyone and everyone are welcome and encouraged to enter.
At the end of the contest we will be choosing 4 songs; one for each VOCALOID. As such, we will be offering 4 grand prizes to 4 lucky producers.
The grand prize package includes the following:
- Your song professionally duplicated and printed on 25 slimline CD singles courtesy of Empathy Studios. We encourage you to use these CDs however you like, whether you decide to sell them, give them away, or keep them for yourself. The artwork for the CD will be created by either EmpathP, or the artist of your choice (though you must make arrangements for the commission of that artist). Empathy Studios will provide all templates needed for the CD artwork should you choose to your own art/artist.
- A VOCAMERICA T-shirt
- 2 Exclusive VOCAMERICA keychains of the characters of your choice (including kickstarter-exclusive characters and re-colors)
There are also second and third place prizes for those who enter. And just like our 4 grand prize winners, there will be 4 second prize winners and 4 third prize winners (one for each VOCALOID).
Second prize will receive the following:
- A signed copy of the ‘A Wicked Girl and a Tin Boy’ single from EmpathP
- A VOCAMERICA T-shirt
- 2 Exclusive VOCAMERICA keychains of the characters of your choice (including kickstarter-exclusive characters and re-colors)
And finally, our third prize winners will receive the following:
- A signed copy of the ‘A Wicked Girl and a Tin Boy’ single from EmpathP
- 2 Exclusive VOCAMERICA keychains of the characters of your choice (including kickstarter-exclusive characters and re-colors)
We look forward to receiving your entrees. And if you have any questions at all, please email EmpathP at: [email protected]
