The Niconico Cho Party 2016 is now in full swing at the Saitama Super Arena, and it was there that attendees were given new information about the upcoming “VocaNico” event. The above teaser image shows that it will be sponsored by Tobu Top Tours, and is set to take place sometime in the spring of 2017 with the theme “Bringing our subculture to the world, and the power of youth to 2020.” That happens to be around the time of next year’s Niconico Cho Kaigi event and its own VOCALOID concert, but what relation, if any, it will have with VocaNico is currently unclear.
Cho Kaigi 2016’s VocaNico event, with its circular stage, DJ turntable performance, and gigantic speakers, was a dramatic upgrade in production value, and I for one cannot wait to see what 2017’s event will be like! Stay tuned for more information as it comes to light!
