We normally only see real people gracing the covers of magazines, but Hatsune Miku has been breaking new ground, appearing on magazine covers in illustrations or computer-generated form! Now she’ll be appearing on the cover of the August 23rd issue of “Sunday Mainichi,” the weekly magazine by Mainichi Shimbun Publications.
Miku’s appearance on the magazine cover will be provided by nezuki, the artist who handled illustrations for the song “Watashi to Juliet” by the VOCALOID producer, doriko. Leaning ever so slightly forward while gently touching her hair and smiling, Miku looks absolutely adorable here. Furthermore, there will be Miku-related articles published in the magazine, including an interview with doriko to be featured in the “Sunday Cafe” section, where he will be talking about his latest album release “doriko BEST 2008-2016″. He will also be talking about how he first encountered VOCALOID and what his prospects for the future are. The issue will cost ¥380 JPY (about $3.79 USD). Miku is probably waiting for you at the book store even as you read this! (The magazine sales are limited to Japan, though.)
